CONTRIBUTION TO YOUR LEARNING AND THE LEARNING COMMUNITY - SUMMER 2022
Up Close & Personal
Reflection is a critical component of any learning activity. I entered my graduate program to become a more effective and efficient educator. Educational innovation is why I chose video content as the primary delivery platform for campus morning announcements as the focus of my Innovation Plan. I have found that the concepts of educational technology and disruptive innovation in technology have been beneficial in reaching my goal to be more effective and efficient in leveraging technology to improve education. I constantly investigate new technology implementation use cases to improve my teaching practices and student learning outcomes. In addition, I am always looking for ways to integrate innovative technologies into the classroom environment. As a result, I believe I am making significant contributions to my learning and the learning of my colleagues.
However, I think there are always areas in which we can improve our performance. For example, in terms of time management, I must work diligently to prioritize tasks and manage my time efficiently. The prioritization of tasks is crucial when working on projects with tight deadlines and involves the support, analysis, and feedback of others. Therefore, finding a balance between time spent on career projects and educational projects and goals is paramount at this juncture. Solving this problem will help significantly to reduce stress levels and keep me organized.
Additionally, responding in a timely manner is critical for maintaining positive relationships with classmates and professors alike. Timely communication is something that I need to work on, as there have been several instances where someone has posted something engaging or thought-provoking, and I fail to respond while the post is relevant. I must put thoughtful consideration into how this change can help me learn more about the concepts covered. As we advance, I will make it more of a priority to check the discussion boards regularly to have active discussions between classmates.
As I close out the first set of courses toward completing my graduate studies, I have found that my colleagues have been instrumental in helping me learn new material and build upon my understanding of the course content. Those colleagues that contributed to my learning community include the following:

Ashleigh Bouvier
Veronica Goodly
Melinda Flaugher
Valary Patterson
Stacey Powell
LaTammie Rawls
Dawn Short
SELF-ASSESSMENT
After much reflection, I would rate myself 80 out of 100 in 5302 Concepts of Educational Technology and 40 out of 50 in 5305 Disruptive Innovation Technology. I am assigning this rating primarily because I did not take leadership in my base groups but contributed to my colleagues' learning by participating in all activities and sharing the work I created.
